Theresearch was conducted in two citics ; Chung-joo with water flouridation, and Suwon without water flouridation.
It was based on the data ; the total number of treatment cases, the total amount of dental expenses, and the number of dental caries cases and pulpities cases, and their expenses. The date was from the Dental Care Institution in each city, and it
reported to National Federation of Medical Insurance from July 1. 1993. To Dec. 31, 1993 for ages between 12 and 18
@ES The data had been analized and compared, and the conclusions are following:
1. In all ages between 12 and 18, sample group was 1,000 persons in Suwon, the number of treatment cases increased depending on the ages from 109 to 667. Approximately, the number of treatment of cases increased 6.1 times more in older group.
In chung-Joo, the number changed only from 118 to 131.
There was no extreme increment in the number in this city compared with Suwom.
2. The amount of expenses also rose from 2,168 to 9,933 won in Suwon per person. It indicates that the older people spend 4.5 times more for their dental care than younger ones.
The amount of expenses in Chung-Joo Only increased from 2.059 to 2,340 won.
3. In Suwon the number of treatment cases for dental caries changed from 2,095 to 2,340 won.
It is about 4.8 times more then the youngere group. For pulpitis in Suwon, the number increased from 100 to 473, about 4.7 times more then young group.
But in Chung-Joo the number increased from 70 to 77 for Dental caries, and from 92 to 107 for pulpities.
4. The expenses of Dental Caries in Suwon changed from 1,477 to 5,795 won, about 3.9 times more than younger group, and for pulpitis, the amount increased from 2,066 to 8.151 won, 3.9 times mdre for younger ages.
In Chung-Joo, Dental caries from 1,303 to 1,496 won, and for pulpities from 1,772 to 2,058 won. There were'nt any big differences between younger and older groups.
